My name is Brett E. Niethamer, a screenwriter with a deep love of storytelling and a lifelong obsession with movies... Seriously, I own over 3,000 films and television shows on physical media.
I hold an M.F.A. in Screenwriting (2017), and I write for both film and television including original pilots, features, and adaptations. I also have experience in directing and producing, which helps me write scripts that are creative, collaborative, and production-ready.
I’m a versatile writer comfortable across any genre, but comedy tends to find its way into everything I do. I focus on bold storylines and peculiar characters that shine a light on the different sides of humanity. Always striving to finds the most unique take on things, my vision is sure to offer a different take on a classic story.
I thrive both independently and in the writers’ room. I pride myself on being someone who's genuinely excited to elevate others’ ideas as well as my own. At the heart of everything I write is passion; for character, for craft, and for the magic of the movies.
